ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 30, 2013) – A teenager, who was allegedly buying illegal drugs, was killed by a group of men who tried him and his companion in a village in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said on Thursday.
Police said the victim was shot in the head as he and his friend tried to flee from the gang in the village of Santa Catalina.
One gang member opened fire on the duo and hit the teenager in the head and was killed instantly. His companion managed to escape and is being sought by the police to shed light on the attack.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the killing. Illegal drug trade is rampant in Zamboanga City. (Mindanao Examiner)
