5 killed in road accident in Cagayan de Oro City

PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 30, 2012) – Five people were killed and over  a dozen others injured after a truck rammed a passenger jeep and a motorcycle in the southern Philippine city of Cagayan de Oro, authorities said.

It said the truck was speeding when it hit the jeep and the motorcycle. At least 20 people were rushed to hospital for medical treatment, many suffered fractures and contusions.

Police said it is investigating the accident, but the truck driver Francisco Junio is likely to face criminal charges over the deaths of the victims. (Mindanao Examiner)
