
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 16, 2012) – Philippine authorities held a Lebanese national who illegally entered the country through the southern backdoor, security officials told the Mindanao Examiner on Thursday.
Officials said the 44-year old foreigner, Mohammad Facha, arrived in the port city of Zamboanga on a small ferry which came from the port of Tawi-Tawi near the Malaysian border of Sabah.
Facha took the ferry ML Napiesa from the island of Taganak and then proceeded to Zamboanga City where he was intercepted by immigration officials.
The Lebanese man failed to present any travel visa and is facing criminal charges for entering the Philippines. Authorities are investigating the foreigner in Zamboanga City. (Mindanao Examiner. With a report from Ely Dumaboc)
