ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Western Mindanao Command in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines has renewed its pledge of allegiance to the Armed Forces’ Code of Ethics.

Brigadier General Orland de Leon, Chief of the Office of the Ethical Standards and Public Accountability, led officers and soldiers, including civilian employees, in the renewal of their pledge of allegiance which coincided with the 24th anniversary of the promulgation of the Code of Ethics.

Lieutenant General Rustico Guerrero, Chief of the Western Mindanao Command, also read a message sent by Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Gregorio Pio Catapang.

In his message, Catapang said: “Our annual commemoration of the AFP Code of Ethics is a manifestation of the armed forces’ ardent desire to continually become an institution that the Filipino people can trust and depend on…But today, we also recommit ourselves to the AFP core values essential to the honorable accomplishment of our tasks before the Philippine flag and amongst our fellow soldiers.”

Guerrero also urged all military and civilian personnel to continue to reflect and uphold the provisions of the AFP Code of Ethics.
