COTABATO CITY — Bangsamoro lawmakers have proposed a bill that would grant a P10,000 Ramadhan bonus to all qualified officials and employees of the Bangsamoro government, making the yearly benefit a permanent part of government policy.
The measure, filed by Susana Anayatin, Hashemi Dilangalen, and Ibrahim Ibay, seeks to provide financial relief to government workers ahead of the holy month.
Parliament Bill No. 398, or the Ramadhan Bonus Act of 2025, would provide each qualified employee with at least P10,000 annually, to be released in time for the observance of Ramadhan.
According to the explanatory note, the bonus has been granted for the past three years and has helped ease financial pressures amid rising prices, while honoring the spiritual and cultural importance of Ramadhan for the Bangsamoro people.
The measure would cover officials and employees of all ministries, offices, and agencies, including those on Contract of Service (COS) or Job Order (JO) arrangements. Excluded are employees absent without official leave and ineligible categories such as consultants, apprentices, and student laborers.
Funding for the bonus would come from the Bangsamoro Government’s General Appropriations Act. The Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Management would issue implementing rules and regulations to ensure its orderly release. If enacted, the bill would make the Ramadhan Bonus a permanent benefit for Bangsamoro government workers. (LTAIS-Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations Division)
