ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 22, 2013) – Police arrested a man who slashed the throat of her partner in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Police said Raymundo Carloto, 43, was arrested while trying to escape from the village of Tilasan in RT Lim town after attacking Lionela Estrera, 43. The immediate response of village leader Adela Hersanio to the crime prevented Carloto from getting away.
Hersanio reported to the police the escape of Carloto and was captured during an operation. Police also recovered from the man the hunting knife he used to slash the Estrera’s throat.
It was not immediately known what triggered the attack, but police said the woman was rushed to the hospital. (Mindanao Examiner)
