PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 25, 2013) – Armed men riding tandem on a motorcycle shot and wounded a man in a broad daylight attack Thursday in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province, police said.
Police said the 36-year old Roderick Yankee Mayormita was heading home when one of the gunmen opened fire and hit him in the arm near Sanoria Street in Santiago district. The assailants fled after the shooting.
Local police chief Julius Muñez led policemen to the crime scene and conducted an ocular investigation.
Investigators recovered a bullet casing of a .45-caliber pistol from the area. Police said it is still investigating the shooting.
Gun attacks are a common occurrence in Pagadian City where hired killers are actively operating. (Mindanao Examiner)
