DAVAO CITY (Mindanao / July 11, 2013) – Policemen in the southern Philippine city of Davao killed two suspected kidnappers on Thursday and recovered their victim, but 10 others had escaped and security forces were sent to pursue them, reports said.

It said the victim Sally Chua was inside the Allied Bank along Claveria Street where the ransom money was supposed to be paid to the kidnappers when policemen opened fire on a vehicle parked outside and killing the men.

One alleged kidnapper was also captured by authorities, but the others escaped on a separate car.

Police said Chua was kidnapped in Quezon City in Luzon and brought to the southern Philippines where authorities had been informed about the pay off.

The kidnappers originally demanded P100 million from Chua’s family, but eventually lowered this to P15 million.

The identities of the slain men were not immediately known. No other details were made available by the police. (Mindanao Examiner)
