Mindanao soldiers get promotion

DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Sept. 30, 2013) – Eastern Mindanao Command deputy commander Captain Severino Vicente David on Monday presided the pinning of rank insignia to newly promoted soldiers in Davao City in southern Philippines.

David pinned the rank insignia during the flag raising ceremony at the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao parade ground, according Captain. Alberto Caber, the command’s chief information officer.

He said the newly promoted soldiers were TSg. Domingo T. Lapitan; TSg. Ramil C. Azarez; TSg Pedro S. Brac; SSg. Donato S. Bello SSg. Edgar D. Lancheta; SSg. Angel T. Barrieta; SSg. Merce T. Jasmin; Sgt. Renato T. Gamos; Sgt. Mary Ann M. Tan; Sgt. Emily L. Ebrona and Cpl. Jhoan S. Gualberto.

Lieutenant General Ricardo Rainier Cruz III, chief of the Eastern Mindanao Command, congratulated the newly promoted enlisted personnel “who have proven themselves worthy of their rank.”

“The rank you have earned is the fruit of your efforts in the accomplishment of our mission. Wear your rank with pride and be worthy of the responsibilities that come with it,” Cruz said.

Cruz also urged troops to continue to pursue peace programs to achieve lasting peace and development in the region. (Mindanao Examiner)
