DAVAO CITY – The National Commission of Senior Citizens in Davao Region (NCSC-11) announced Monday it will conduct the first quarter cash gift distribution for 2026 across the region from March 16 to 27, benefiting 3,742 grantees.

The first batch comprises 1,367 males and 2,375 females. By province, Davao City has 971 grantees, Davao de Oro, 605; Davao del Norte, 811; Davao Oriental, 505; Davao del Sur, 674; and Davao Occidental, 176.
In a press briefing, Filbert Bryan Sollesta, project development officer V of NCSC-11, said the Local Social Welfare Development Offices and the Offices of Senior Citizens Affairs will assist in informing beneficiaries of the schedules and venues.
Distribution in Davao City’s three districts will run from March 23 to 25. Seniors aged 80 to 95 will receive PHP10,000, while centenarians (100 years old) will be granted PHP100,000. Of the total grantees, 22 centenarians are set to receive their cash gift.
“We are asking families to ensure the money is used for the seniors’ maintenance medicines —so they can truly benefit from their cash gifts,” Sollesta said.
He said the program is not an “ayuda” but a recognition of the seniors’ contributions to nation-building and their communities.
To claim the cash gift, grantees must submit a photocopy of their OSCA ID, signed or thumb-marked three times. Applications continue to be accepted for seniors reaching milestone aged 80 to 100 years.
For those unable to appear personally due to medical reasons, representatives may claim on their behalf by presenting an NCSC-template authorization letter, a barangay or medical certificate, a whole-body photo of the grantee with a current month calendar, and photocopies of both the grantee’s and representative’s IDs with three specimen signatures.
In cases where a grantee has passed away before the scheduled distribution, heirs may still process the claim through an appointed representative. (PR)
