ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 18, 2013) – Police detained a 20-year old man accused of stoning a provincial bus on a highway in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said.

Officials said Aldrin Timpangco was positively identified by the bus driver Carlos Catan, 54, and his conductor Ellemar Bulanday, 20. Timpangco’s cohort is still being hunted by the police.

Catan said a 68-yearold passenger Antonietta Lim was also hurt in the stoning which also damaged the windshield of the bus, operated by Rural Transit Mindanao.

The bus was traveling to Pagadian City when it was stoned in the village of Boalan. Both Catan and Bulanday sought assistance from the local police force headed by PO2 Marvin Surbano and village watchmen that led to the immediate apprehension of Timpangco.
