ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 17, 2013) – Philippine authorities arrested a Taiwanese national for selling pornographic videos in an operation in the southern province of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Police said Eric Chang was nabbed after he sold pornographic movies to undercover agents of the National Bureau of Investigation and the municipal police in Kabasalan town.

The 26-year old Taiwanese is said to be residing in the town, but officials did not say whether the foreigner was illegally staying in the country or not.

Authorities are investigating the Taiwanese in the NBI provincial official in Pagadian City where he is being detained, according to Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.

He said the foreigner is facing charges for violating the Revised Penal Code Article 201 or Immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions and indecent shows.

If found guilty, the Taiwanese can be jailed for 6 years or fined up to P12,000 or both. (Mindanao Examiner)
