ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 15, 2013) – Thousands of people on Sunday trooped to the Sulu provincial sports complex for the opening of the sports festival that featured the talents of the local Tausug athletes.
Governor Totoh Tan led the opening of the Sulu Provincial Athletic Association Meet with senior education and sports officials.
Tan also carried the ceremonial torch and flamed the huge concrete chalice that signal the formal opening of the event.
Students also performed cultural dances in their traditional Tausug costumes that draw applause from the huge crowd.
Tan urged the students and athletes to excel in sports and vowed to support sports development in the province. (Mindanao Examiner)
