ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 25, 2013) – Police filed criminal charges against a cop who shot and killed a civilian in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said.
Officials said PO2 Richard Bumanglad, who accidentally shot Herman delos Reyes near the
Zamboanga City Water District motor pool, was charged with homicide.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman, said “PO2 Richard Bumanglad accidentally shot Herman Delos Reyes that led to his death.”
He said the policeman posted a P40,000 bail for his temporary liberty. “The respondent availed his right to post bail in the amount of P40,000. Subject person was released from police custody,” he said. (Mindanao Examiner)
