MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / June 8, 2013) – Eleven people were killed and at least 9 others wounded after a truck transporting partygoers fell in a cliff during a bad weather in the Philippine province of Benguet in Cordillera Region on Saturday afternoon, reports said.
It said the passengers were mostly visitors and supporters of Buquias town mayor Melchor Diclas who attended the politician’s victory party.
The wounded were rushed to the Benguet General Hospital in town of La Trinidad.
Police did not immediately release the names of the dead, saying their families and kin have not been informed yet about the tragedy.
But the Radio Bombo has identified 9 of those who died in the accident as Melyn Dasdas, Manny Langbis, Milo Waclin, Melania Matiano, Alfredo Patiam, Ferdelyn Igualdo, Arnaldo Madiano, Melanio Igualdo, Kimberly Waclin, Edna Tosay.
