ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – Two gunmen robbed a roadside restaurant in Kabasalan town in Zamboanga Sibugay province in southern Philippines, police said Friday.
Police said a manhunt was launched to search for the two men who escaped on a motorcycle on Christmas Day. The two assailants pretended to be customers at the Nono Balbacua Eatery in the village of Lumbayao and the duo announced the robbery as soon as they took position inside.
They held up the restaurant owner, Eduardo Barcelona, 64; and two other customers – husband and wife Cirilo, 44, and Maria Liza Dulatas, 42.
The two men seized the wallets and cell phones and other valuables from the three victims.
Police said the restaurant has no security guards and not even a closed-circuit television inside and outside the establishment. (Mindanao Examiner)
