
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 16, 2013) – Philippine policemen rescued two Norwegian scuba divers after their boat was battered with huge waves and sank off Zamboanga del Sur province, officials said.
Officials said the foreigners – Barling Guarte and Kalsen Martin – were with a group of 6 Filipino divers and a medical team from the local municipal government of Dumalinao.
Guarte and Martin were on a separate motor boat when it was battered by big waves.
“They are all safe,” said Insp. Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
Huesca did not give other details about the foreigners. (Mindanao Examiner)
