ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner, Aug. 9, 2012) – The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) said it is offering two scholarship programs for Filipino high school undergraduates.

Thelma Drego, DOST information officer, said successful applicants shall receive P6,000 every semester and P5,000 monthly allowance, and P4,000 per month for other DOST-SEI priority courses, including book allowances worth P5,000 a year, physical education uniform allowance, a free transportation allowance for one economy-class round trip fare between permanent residence and the place of study on reimbursement basis, group health and accident insurance.

She said the scholars shall be selected on the basis of their performance in the scholarship examination that will be conducted nationwide on November 18 in the cities of Zamboanga, Pagadian and Dipolog.

“We are now accepting scholarship application until October this year,” she said. (Joymarie Soler)
