ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Sept. 5, 2013) – Two local police officers are among this year’s winners in the search for “Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service” or COPS.
The two – Inspector Arlan Dalumpines, head of the Zamboanga City Police Investigation and Detective Management Branch; and Senior Police Officer 1 Eduardo Covarrubias, leader of the Anti-Vice Operative Group – join the elite roster of outstanding officers on the country.
Their exemplary dedication to the police service, among others, was cited by the organizers – Metrobank Foundation, Rotary Club of New Manila and PSBank.
Aniceto Sobrepeña, president of the Metrobank Foundation, has informed and congratulated Zamboanga Mayor Maria Isabelle Salazar for having two winners in this year’s search.
Salazar, proud of the two local officers, announced this during a flag raising ceremony at City Hall.
“The two police officers are exemplars of gallant policemen and committed and dedicated public servants,” she said.
COPS seeks to pay tribute to outstanding men and women of the Philippine National Police, who exemplified excellence in solving and preventing crimes in their community, and integrity as members of the police force.
Dalumpines and Covarrubias received a trophy and a cash prize of P300,000. (Mindanao Examiner)
