PAGADIAN CITY – Three people selling dried fish were killed on Monday in the town of Buadiposo-Buntong in Lanao del Sur in the Muslim autonomous region in Mindanao, reports said.
It said the victims – two men and a woman – were found dead on the highway and believed to be natives of Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province, but other reports said the three were residents of Lanao del Norte’s Lugait town.
The trio was reportedly selling dried fish to teachers in schools in the town, but their identities are still unknown, although some of the teachers claimed the victims were from Pagadian City.
The report said the victims were believed robbed as none of their wallets and belongings were found in the area. The three were travelling together on a motorcycle when they were attacked.
Photos of the slain traders were posted on Facebook by a community facilitator of the Department of Social Welfare Development who came passed the village. Abdulsamad Alonto and Wit Wiw also shared the photos on Facebook in an effort to help authorities in the identification of the victims.
The motive of the attack is still unknown and no individual or group claimed responsibility for the murders. (Mindanao Examiner)
