ZAMBOANGA CITY – Unidentified gunmen attacked and killed three members of a family on a remote village in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Norte, police said on Saturday.
Police said four other people were also shot and wounded in the attack which occurred late Friday in the village of San Vicente in Sirawai town. The motive of the attack is still unknown, but authorities were investigating the murders.
An initial police report identified those killed by their names as Allan, Florgyn and Michael; and the wounded Mike, John, Mark and Hamja.
No other details were made available by the police on the incident. (With a report from Ely Dumaboc)
