
MANILA – Around 3,000 job openings and several frontline public services will highlight the annual celebration of the International Day of Peace as the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), holds a one-day Job Fair and Serbisyong Bayan this Saturday, September 21.
The activity will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Promenade Garden, Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
“This is a convergence effort of government and private offices to help our fellow Filipinos who are in search of job and economic opportunities,” said OPAPP Communications Director Polly Michelle Cunanan.
The event, Cunanan said, is also a call to all Filipinos to help in promoting peace and development in the country as “jobs and investments thrive best in a stable and peaceful environment.”
Government agencies which include Bureau of Internal Revenue, National Statistics Office, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, Department of Health (DOH), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), among others, will participate in this one-stop shop activity.
DOH will offer first aid services, while TESDA will provide free massage and haircut services, as well as information regarding scholarships.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Dangerous Drugs Board will join the list of employers in the Job Fair.
Generika Drugstore will also be there to give free services.Thirty-one employers will bring in local and overseas job opportunities. Local firms include Watsons, Fisher Mall, SM, Sky Cable, Bioessence, Sykes Asia, and others. Participating companies from abroad are Kougen International Promotion, STB DJL Human Link, Inc., AU Management Services, Inc., God’s Fortune International Manpower Services, and H.M.O. International Human Resources.
OPAPP Undersecretary Luisito Montalbo, Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, and DOLE Regional Director Alex Avila will lead the opening of the Job Fair and Serbisyong Bayan.
