
DIPOLOG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Sept. 4, 2014) – A lone gunman shot four people in a daring attack inside a billiard hall in Dipolog City in southern Philippines, police said Thursday.
Police said the gunman barged inside the billiard hall owned by Abraham Vergara, 51, in the village of Turno on the evening of September 2 and shot him with a .45-caliber pistol.
The gunman then went on shooting and hitting Iky Jet Campomanes, 29; Joel Cayud-Ong, 43; and a teenager and escaped on a motorcycle after the horrifying attack.
Witnesses told police investigators the gunman was about 5’8” in height and had a white and black scarf covering his face.
Police said all the victims were rushed to Zamboanga Del Norte North Cooperative Hospital and Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center.
Investigators recovered 10 shell casings inside the billiard hall. The motive of the attack is still being investigated by the police. (Mindanao Examiner)
