THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through the Second Congressional District of Ilocos Norte, announced Wednesday that it is now accepting applicants for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers Program (TUPAD).
TUPAD is an emergency employment program for unemployed or underemployed, and seasonal workers for a minimum of 10 days but not more than 30 days depending on the nature of work to be performed.
In San Nicolas town, Cathleen Joybel dela Cruz, head of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), said they are looking for at least 150 beneficiaries, who will work for 15 days with a wage of PHP340 per day under the program.
“Eligible beneficiaries must be 18 years old and above, male or female, and unemployed or underemployed,” she said, citing interested applicants may visit or contact the PESO-San Nicolas at 0977 855 3304 or the Ilocos Norte 2nd Congressional District Office of Rep. The deadline for the submission of applications is on August 30, 2019. The requirements include the following: certification of unemployment or underemployment from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office or from their respective barangay, and two pieces 1×1 picture.
There will also be a short interview for the profiling of applicants.(By Leilanie Adriano)
