5 casualties sa sagupaan sa Basilan

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Dalawang sibilyan ang patay at 3 iba pa ang sugatan matapos na magsagupaan kahapon ang mga awtoridad at Abu Sayyaf sa Lamitan City sa lalawigan ng Basilan sa magulong Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Sumiklab ang labanan sa Barangay Bohe-Ibu at ayon sa ulat ng pulisya ay 2 babae ang kumpirmadong nasawi. Ngunit hindi malinaw kung sino ang nakapatay sa dalawa at nakabaril sa mga sugatan na naipit diumano sa labanan.

Tulad ng dati, walang inilabas na anumang pahayag ang Western Mindanao Command sa trahedyang sinapit ng mga sibilyan sa kaguluhan. Wala rin pahayag ang mga opisyal ng Lamitan City ukol sa naganap, subali’t kabila sa mga kasama sa operasyon ay ang lokal na pulisya at Scout Ranger.

Natunton umano ang taguan ng Abu Sayyaf sa nasabing barangay kung kaya’t pinasok ito ng mga parak at sundalo.

Sabit ang Abu Sayyaf sa maraming kaso ng terorismo sa magulong lalawigan at iba pang lugar sa Mindanao. (Mindanao Examiner)
