SIX PERSONS were arrested while some PHP2.34 million worth of suspected shabu were seized in four separate operations in the cities of Bacolod, San Carlos, and Silay in Negros Occidental, in the past two days.
A police report showed that around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Khalid Diacat, 18, was caught selling shabu worth PHP500 to an undercover policeman in a buy-bust at Lumina Subdivision, Barangay Vista Alegre in this city.
Diacat, a high-value target, also yielded two pouches and six sachets of the prohibited substance valued at around PHP1.8 million, during the operation conducted by joint personnel of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-Western Visayas and Bacolod City Police Office Station 7.
In San Carlos City, operatives recovered nine sachets of shabu worth PHP360,000 in a buy-bust at San Juan Baybay, Barangay 6 around 1:25 p.m. on Thursday.
Two suspects, Joel Baidal and Bryan Baylosis, evaded arrest while two minors were apprehended and turned over by the police to the City Social Welfare Office.
Operatives also recovered a weighing scale, two mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia.
Around 11:47 a.m. of the same day, suspects Jayban Rosalejos, 25, and Jolito Javoc, 20, were arrested at Fatima Village in Barangay Rizal.
They sold PHP1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer and also yielded seven sachets of shabu worth around PHP60,000.
On Wednesday, suspect Rene Garcitos was arrested at Kalye Onse Sitio Berannio in Barangay Lantad, Silay City.
Garcitos, 29, sold a sachet of shabu worth PHP5,000 to a poseur-buyer during the 5:30 p.m. operation.
He also yielded four sachets of the prohibited substance amounting to PHP120,000. (By Nanette Guadalquiver)
