7 katao nalason ng ‘asin’ sa South Cotabato

COTABATO CITY – Pitong katao ang isinugod sa pagamutan matapos na umano’y panakitan ng tiyan dahil sa ginamit na asin sa kanilang lutuin sa bayan ng Surallah sa South Cotabato province sa Mindanao.

Nabatid na nabili umano ang asin sa isang tindahan ng pamilyang Ricablanca ng Barangay Dajay kamakalawa lamang ng gabi. Sumuka at nahilo diumano ang mag-asawa at kanilang mga anak matapos ng hapunan kung kaya’t agad isinugod sa pagamutan.

Hinala ng pamilya na ang asin ang siyang dahilan sa food poisoning, ngunit patuloy pa ang imbestigasyon ng mga awtoridad ukol dito upang mabatid kung ito nga ang tunay na dahilan. Hindi naman agad malaman kung anong putahe o ulam ang pinaggamitan ng asin na may kakaibang lasa diumano.

Naganap ito sa kasagsagan ng pagkalat ng durian at mangosteen candy sa Caraga region at North Cotabato na siyang naging sanhi ng pananakit ng sikmura ng halos 2000 estudyante doon. (Mindanao Examiner)
