
TACURONG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 9, 2014) – Police on Wednesday arrested 7 burglars – five teenagers and two minors – after they were caught selling at least 42 bags of palay they allegedly stole from a warehouse in Tacurong City in southern Philippines, officials said.
City police chief Superintendent Junny Buenacosa said the 7 were arrested after warehouse owner Manuel Ang reported the burglary. Buenacosa said the thieves were arrested while trying to sell their loot. He said 34 of 42 bags of palay were recovered from the suspects.
The five suspects – four of them 18 years old and the other one 21 years of age – have been identified as Alfred Paraiso, Alex dela Cruz, Rhoderick Gargar, Luigi Ganny, and Darwin Camansa – all residents of Purok Malipayon in the village of New Carmen.
Buenacosa said the two minors were turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk. Ang praised the police for its quick response to the burglary that resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspects. (Rose Muneza)
