70-taong Gulang na Retiradong OFW, Nanalo ng ₱500,000 Jackpot sa Go for Gold 50s

“Wala akong plano na bumili ng scratch card dito, pero dinala lang ako ng mga paa ko sa outlet na ito. Scratch lang ako ng scratch tulad ng dati.”

Si Benjamin Gacutan, isang 70-year-old na retired overseas Filipino worker mula Quezon City, ang nanalo ng ₱500,000 sa Go for Gold 50s scratch card game. Habang dumadaan lang sa isang Lotto outlet sa SM Fairview, napabili siya ng card nang hindi inaasahan-at laking gulat niya nang tamaan niya ang jackpot, kahit dati puro maliliit lang ang panalo niya.

Si Gacutan, na nag-retire mula sa trabaho sa Riyadh noong 2019, agad na nag-claim ng premyo kasama ang kanyang kapatid. Bilang breadwinner ng pamilya, plano niyang gamitin ang pera para sa health expenses, family vacation, at pagtulong sa mga kamag-anak-kasama na ang pinsan niyang pari na gustong magpatayo ng simbahan.

Kahit nanalo siya, pinaalalahanan ni Gacutan ang iba tungkol sa responsible gaming. Sabi niya, dapat entertainment lang ang tingin sa mga ganitong laro at hindi ito dapat gawing source of income.

Ipinapakita ng kwento ni Gacutan ang halaga ng pasasalamat, suporta sa pamilya, at pagbabahagi ng biyaya-kahit sa kanyang edad at pagiging retired na. (PR)
