
BASILAN PROVINCE – Eight policemen were injured when their patrol car crashed Thursday in the southern Philippine province of Basilan, officials said.
The prowl car was travelling in Maluso town when its driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed to a tree by the side of the road in the village of Bakud.
Among the wounded were Inspector Mark Molina, the town’s police chief, and seven of his men who were all rushed to hospital.
It was not immediately known the cause of the crash, but other reports said the driver may have fallen asleep. The car was totally damaged from the impact of the crash. (Mindanao Examiner)
