SULU – Vice Governor Abdusakur M. Tan showed his steadfast dedication to the welfare of the Tausug people by taking a proactive role in the recent 2-day Planning and Alignment Conference regarding the Sulu Transition of Health Operations on March 30-31, 2026 at Azotea Hall, Garden Orchids Hotel, Zamboanga City.

This senior-level coordination among the Department of Health (DOH), the Ministry of Health (MOH-BARMM), and the Provincial Government of Sulu (SPG) functioned as a vital venue to harmonize the handover of medical and staff services, making certain no Tausug is neglected during this shift.

The inaugural day featured the unveiling of the PLGU Transition Plan alongside the relevant transition outlines from both MOH-BARMM and the DOH, followed by a thorough panel discussion where the assembly addressed intricate operational matters and difficulties directly. With key officials present such as DOH Undersecretary Dr. Mary Ann Palermo-Maestral, OIC-Regional Director Dr. Lenny Joy Johnson-Rivera, and the committed SPG group, the environment was characterized by deep teamwork and a mutual objective.
During his address, Vice Governor Tan delivered a message of constancy to the province, conveying that the national administration provided its solid guarantees that healthcare service provision in Sulu will stay completely seamless throughout this handover phase, holding the health and security of every household as the ultimate foremost concern.
