
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 7, 2014) – Police said two people were shot dead in separate attacks in the southern Filipino province of Zamboanga del Sur.
Police said a 42-year old laborer Rolibert Jayme was killed by motorcycle gunmen in Santa Lucia District in Pagadian City. Jayme, a resident of Purok Bagong Silang, was shot repeatedly on July 6.
The gunmen were tailing Jayme who was also on a motorbike and attacked him without warning. The two assailants escaped after the shooting.
In Dumingag town, two armed men riding tandem on a motorcycle also killed Victor Calo, 46, in the village of Caridad. Police said Calo, who worked as a seaman, was a resident of Sicpao village in Mahayag town.
Calo was on a motorcycle and heading home in his rented house at Purok Santan in San Pablo town when gunmen opened fire and killing him instantly. Police said Calo was shot in the head.
No individual claimed responsibility for both attacks, but police said it is investigating the murders. (Mindanao Examiner)
