
SULTAN KUDARAT (Mindanao Examiner / July 1, 2014) – A local man accused of murder was arrested in Bulacan province outside Manila where a cracked team of policemen tracked him down after 10 months in hiding, officials said Tuesday.
Officials said policemen led by of P03 Alex Salazar, of Bagumbayan police force, arrested Jolyser Castor, 33, but another accused, Japeth Fernandez, remains at large. Salazar said he tracked down Castor in Sitio Panaclayan in the village of Musong in San Jose del Monte town after getting fresh leads.
Castor allegedly admitted stabbing his relative during a drinking session on September 21 last year and said he hid from one place to another for fear of being arrested by the police. He said he worked as a bus dispatcher in Bulacan until his arrest.
Sultan Kudarat Governor Datu Suharto Mangudadatu, whom learned about the arrest of Castor praised the police.
Senior Superintendent Rex Dela Rosa, the Sultan Kudarat police director, said he will give commendations to the different police stations and personnel in recognition for their exemplary performance. (Rose Muneza and Deanna Diaz)
