
CEBU province has recently launched a new anti-drug campaign that has a rate card along with it for all towns, cities, municipalities and villages in the province, officials said.
Ethel Natera, Cebu provincial information officer, said, the project dubbed “Just Say No,” is a program of the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council which covers all the local government units.
The launching of the program was led by Vice Chairman of CPADAC, Provincial Board Member Ivy Meca and Mayor Johnny De los Reyes in Talisay City.
Natera the score card will rate the performances in activities related to the ant-drug campaign.“Top performing LGUs in building safe, and drug-free communities will be recognized at the end of the year,” she said.
She said “Just Say No” is a comprehensive, community based approach in addressing the drug problem in the localities. It will mobilize local government officials, law enforcement agencies, parents, youth, academe, business and civic groups, non-government and people organizations, other sectors and stakeholders and empowering them to get directly involved in addressing the drug problem in their locality and to build safe and drug free communities.
“Just Say No” aims to incorporate all anti drug programs and strategies of national government agencies, law enforcement agencies that are being implemented in a locality, harmonize and put them together into one effective whole so as to optimize use of resources and attain maximum efficiency.
