Seaweed farmer wounded in Zamboanga gun attack

ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 20, 2014) – Police said a seaweed farmer has been shot and wounded by an unidentified assailant in Zamboanga City in Mindanao.

Police said Ahmad Jailani, 35, was attacked in the village of Mampang, but the motive of the shooting remains unknown.

The gunman escaped after attacking Jailani with a .45-caliber pistol. The victim was brought to hospital and police said it launched an investigation into the shooting.

Police said investigators recovered in the area at least three bullet casings fired from a .45-caliber pistol.  (Mindanao Examiner)
