PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 16, 2014) – Two people were shot and wounded by a lone gunman in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said Friday.
Police said the victims – Alberto Magallanes, 35; and Belly Morales, 36, – were watching a volley ball game when the gunman attacked them in the village of Blong-Baling in Pitogo town.
Magallanes was shot in the head while Morales had been hit in the leg and both men were rushed to hospital. Police said the victims were shot with a .45-caliber pistol. The gunman fled after the shooting, but it was not immediately known if the attacker had been identified or not.
Police are investigating the motive of the shooting. (Mindanao Examiner)
