ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 20, 2014) – Police are searching for two men who were implicated in two separate killings in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines.
Police identified the duo as Rommel Alvarez and Nino Fernando who were allegedly involved in the killings of Emil Sulay, a welder; and widow Isidra Rudy.
Sulay, a resident of Purok 7 in Tugbungan village, was allegedly shot by Alvarez, who lives in Marcelino Drive in Logoy Grande in the village of Talon-Talon. Police said Sulay was shot several times with a .45-caliber pistol. Police said the killing was probably connected to work.
Police said Fernando, a native of Malangas town in Zamboanga Del Sur province, is being sought for the death of Rudy and that robbery was likely the motive behind the killing which occurred in the victim’s house at Dionio Compound in Tumaga village.
The woman’s body was found inside the bathroom – her hands were tied and she was apparently stabbed in the chest, according to the police. (Mindanao Examiner)
