ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 1, 2014) – Police are investigating a teenager in connection to the murder of a policeman in Diplahan town in Zamboanga Sibugay province in southern Philippines.
The minor was caught driving the motorcycle of PO2 Jonnel Ryan Diaz who was found dead in a lodging house in Santa Cruz village. Police said Diaz, assigned in the town of Buug, was probably clubbed to death.
Police said the teenager, a resident of Payao town, was arrested in the neighboring town of Imelda town. Also recovered from him was dead policeman’s 9mm pistol, his clutch bag and other personal belongings.
It was not immediately known whether the teenager was involved in the killing of Diaz, but police are questioning him over recovery of the officer’s motorcycle and gun, and other things. (Mindanao Examiner)
