
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Mar. 27, 2014) – Two persons who carrying illegal weapons have been arrested by the police in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines.
Police said villagers reported the presence of the two – Gil Perater Benabaye, 42; and Julie Perater Benabaye, 39, – who were acting suspiciously at Purok Bombil in the village of Bulawan.
Inspector Dahlan Samuddin, the acting regional police spokesperson, said local policemen rushed to the area and arrested the duo. Seize from them were two 12 gauge shotguns loaded with one ammunition each and a .22-caliber with one magazine and three ammunition.
“Suspects were temporarily detained at Pagadian City Police Station detention cell while an appropriate case for violation of Republic Act 10591 and usurpation of authority are being prepared for filing in court against them,” Samuddin said.
Police are investigating the duo to determine the source of the weapons and whether they were involved in other crimes in Pagadian City where gun attacks and killings are rampant. (Mindanao Examiner)
