14th Malaysia-Indonesia Joint Commission Meeting To Begin Friday In Kuala Lumpur – Bernama

THE 14th Malaysia-Indonesia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation meeting, scheduled to begin this Friday will discuss bilateral issues of mutual concern involving the two countries.

In a statement here Wednesday, the foreign ministry said among the issues expected to be covered during the two-day meeting included trade and investment issues, border demarcation, Indonesian workers in Malaysia and cooperation on trans-boundary haze pollution.

“The meeting will also explore new areas of cooperation that will further be enhanced and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia,” it said.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and his Indonesian counterpart, Retno L. P. Marsudi would jointly chair the meeting which would begin with a Senior Officials’ Meeting, it added.

The meeting, held alternately between the two countries, reviews the progress of bilateral cooperation and follows up on the decisions made by the prime minister and the Indonesian president at the annual consultation between the two leaders.
