ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Ma. 18, 2014) – A man who was previously charged for murdering his brother in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines had been shot and killed on Tuesday, police said.
Police identified the man as Hadjirul, 34, whose killing – according to officials – was probably connected to illegal drugs after initial investigation suggested the man was allegedly selling drugs.
The victim was shot at least 9 times in the village called Campo Islam. A knife was also found near the man’s body.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the killing, but police are continuing its investigation into the murder.
The proliferation of illegal drugs is rampant in Zamboanga. And police linked many of the killings here to the drug problems. (Mindanao Examiner)
