ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Mar. 11, 2014) – An infant has died late Tuesday from a fire that gutted a house in Zamboanga city in southern Philippines, officials said.
Officials said the baby’s body was recovered by a fireman in the burned house owned by the Kasim family at Sampaguita Road in Guiwan village.
The parents of the child were not in the house when the fire broke out. Authorities were investigating the cause of the fire. A candle was reportedly left unattended in the house.
An earlier fire also razed at least 9 stalls owned by Vicente Alavar in Vitali village and was believed to have been caused by a faulty electrical wiring in one of the stalls rented by Vicente Delos Reyes.(Mindanao Examiner)
