Putrajaya must come clean on whether the two SRC International Bhd top executives have been questioned over their role in the RM2.6 billion that was transferred to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s accounts, DAP said today. The party’s parliamentary leader, Lim Kit Siang, said the clarification was necessary in light of conflicting statements from Attorney-General (A-G) Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commision (MACC) chief Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed on the matter. The Gelang Patah MP said Apandi had revealed in an interview with The Malaysian Insider that MACC had already questioned SRC International managing director Nik Faisal Kamil and director Datuk Suboh Md Yassin. –
But Abu Kassim later said investigations into SRC International could only be completed at the end of the year if it could get hold of the two directors, whom he said were overseas. “Who is not telling the public the truth – Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali or MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed?” asked Lim. “It is clear that the new A-G is tying up the government in knots on MACC investigations into SRC International in his first interview with the press and the Malaysian public are entitled to know what is the truth – when and where Nik Faisal and Suboh of SRC International had given their statements to the MACC.”
He said that Najib must appear in the Dewan Rakyat on the last day of the ministerial winding up of the Budget 2016 debate should no clarification be forthcoming. Otherwise, MPs from both sides of the Dewan Rakyat would be entitled to reject the budget, said Lim. He added that Najib must explain why the two “fugitives from justice” in SRC International were still on public payroll after four months of “absconding from the arms of the law”. – November 13, 2015.(The malaysian insider)
