As the “Today” show reports Charlie Sheen will make a personal announcement to the world on Tuesday, and sources claim he’ll reveal that he is HIV Positive, a source familiar with the situation tells Access Hollywood that Sheen’s ex-wife, DeniseRichards, has known Sheen had the disease for a “number of years.”
The source told Access Hollywood that theactor allegedly contracted the disease in the years after he and Richards divorced in2006.
Sheen and Richards have “not been intimate” sincethe divorce, the source added.
Sheen and Richards first met in 2000, but didn’t begindating until October 2001, when Richards appeared on Sheen’s sitcom “SpinCity.” The couple got engaged on December 26, 2001 and tied the knot onJune 15, 2002.
In March 2005, Richards filed for divorce. The divorce wasfinalized in November 2006.
The now-ex-couple has two daughters together – Sam, 11; andLola, 10.
Neither Richards, nor the couple’s children, have beeninfected with HIV, the source close to Richards told Access.
