Good job Riyadh police: Juri found, suspect arrested – Arab News

Editor December 2, 2015

The police found kidnapped two-year-old Juri Al-Khalidi in Ishbiliyah district in Riyadh on Tuesday.
This comes after police teams had launched raids in several parts of the city in their search for her. The child was kidnapped by a citizen, who then took her to a housemaid in an apartment, according to initial reports late Tuesday.
Juri’s uncle said that the police arrested the kidnapper. He said Juri is now with her mother and grandmother, according to the reports.
As soon as the news spread on social media websites, people began posting messages thanking the Kingdom’s police. “Good job, Riyadh police. God bless you, Baby Juri,” Alms Dingding wrote on Facebook.
The kidnapping had elicited an outpouring of support on social media for the family this week. A hashtag in Arabic with the name of Juri Al-Khalidi was created.
The messages included prayers and posts expressing sympathy for the family and child. Some people published photographs of the youngster with messages in various languages to assist search operations.
She had been abducted from inside a clinic along Khurais Road while her father went to buy something from a nearby shop and her mother was being treated inside. The police had earlier rejected reports claiming that the child’s body was found on a beach in the Eastern Province.

A citizen had even offered an Umrah trip for the person who found the little girl. The victim’s family had earlier offered a reward of SR1 million for information leading to her whereabouts.
Psychiatrist Mohammad Iijaz Brasha said the kidnapping would severely affect the wellbeing of the family. Their worry and tension is also passed on to the general public.
Abo Baker Bannameh, a consultant psychiatrist, said Juri would have to undergo intensive counseling to deal with the trauma and the lack of trust she would have of people around her.(Arab News)
