
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Feb. 15, 2014) – A man that police claimed is a primary suspect in a hacking incident was himself murdered in the town of Siay in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Police said the decomposing body of the 43-year old Alfredo Elias, Jr. was found in the San Isidro village by a government militia. The corpse bore a stab wound in the chest.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the killing, but Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman, said the municipal police are investigating the murder.
“Elements of Siay Municipal Police Station are conducting an investigation for the possible identity and arrest of the perpetrator,” Huesca said without further elaborating. (Mindanao Examiner)
