
SULU (Mindanao Examiner / Feb. 10, 2014) – The Sulu provincial government handed over more than a dozen rolls of hinge joint wires to a village in the town of Maimbung to help local residents protect their farms.
The mesh wire used for farm fencing was handed over by Gov. Totoh Tan to Tanduh Patong village chieftain Nurhusin Apah and village council man Muid Asjali.
The officials, who represented their village during a simple handover ceremony, praised Tan for supporting agricultural projects in Tanduh Patong.
In return, Tan urged local villagers to sustain their farm through various agricultural methods and told them to plant different varieties of fruit trees, among others and strengthen cooperatives in the town. (Ahl-Franzie Salinas)
