ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 31, 2014) – Police are hunting down a man who shot and killed a 60-year old farmer in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Police said Rene Alap-ap, 26, was tagged in the killing of Juanito Sumalpong in the remote village of Siawang in Roseller Lim town. Alap-ap escaped after the shooting.
Sumalpong was shot twice outside a convenience store where he had been drinking with friends. He was killed instantly, police said.
The motive of the attack is still unknown. (Mindanao Examiner)
