DIPOLOG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 21, 2014) – Police said a 21-year old man killed himself after his father accused him of stealing his wallet in Rizal town in Zamboanga del Norte province in southern Philippines.
Police said Wilmar Simborio was found dead by children about 100 meters away from their house in the village of Rizalina. His family told police that Simborio left the house after being scolded by his father for stealing his money.
Neighbors also claimed they saw the young man apparently drunk until his lifeless body was discovered.
Police said a scythe, a bag and a plastic container with a small amount of kerosene were also found beside Simborio’s body.
“Post-mortem examination conducted by Dr. Leonard Mah, the Municipal Health Officer of Rizal, disclosed that the cause of death was poisoning due to the intake of kerosene and there was no sign of foul play and ruled it as a case of suicide,” police said. (Mindanao Examiner)
