The Cabinet on Monday condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Iraq, Turkey, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Indonesia and Cameroon, which saw several people injured and killed.
The Cabinet ministers said that the Kingdom remained committed to fighting terrorism, a scourge which violates all human ethics and beliefs, said Adel Al-Toraifi, minister of culture and information, in a statement to SPA after the weekly meeting.
The Cabinet highlighted the Kingdom’s statements at the annual meeting of the UN in New York recently that it was a pioneer in the fight against terrorism on social, intellectual and security levels. It urged member states to support the efforts of the Anti-Terrorism Center at the UN, noting that most victims of extremism continue to be Muslims.
At the outset of the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman at Al-Yamamah Palace, the king briefed the Cabinet on his phone calls with the Turkish, Yemeni and Indonesian presidents and Qatari emir. He also provided details of his meetings with the Mexican president and the Kyrgyz Parliament speaker.(ARAB NEWS)
